GAGE COUCH, FOUNDER

Gage Couch has practiced landscape architecture in South Florida since 2005, working throughout the US Gulf South, Caribbean Islands, UAE and Asia. With two decades of experience in the field, Gage has established himself as a respected voice in the local landscape architecture community. His work has been recognized with various design awards and publications, including the American Society of Landscape Architects’ Award of Excellence.

Gage earned his Bachelor of Landscape Architecture degree from Clemson University and began his career working for an international hospitality-based firm, where he honed his skills in site analysis, master planning, and construction documentation. From 2010-2022, Gage co-founded Cadence Landscape Architects, overseeing the design and construction phases of projects and the general day-to-day operations of the company. He has since completed numerous high-profile projects throughout Florida and the Gulf South region, earning a reputation for his ability to create functional outdoor spaces that seamlessly integrate with the surrounding environment.

Known for his hands-on approach to design, he incorporates native plants and materials into his design palette to utilize locally available resources and foster a sense of place. Gage exhibits a strong attention to detail, a respect for nature and a dedication to resilient solutions within his projects. With a passion for blending design and construction, Gage continues to push the boundaries of what is possible in the office and the field.

  • Gage earned a Bachelors of Landscape Architecture from Clemson University, graduating with Magna Cum Laude. He also completed a study abroad program at the Polytechnic University of Catalonia in Barcelona, Spain.

  • WEDG (Waterfront Edge Design Guidelines) is the gold standard for waterfront resilience and risk reduction. It also maximizes the benefits for ecology and access by inspiring innovation at the water’s edge. WEDG is a tool for designers, developers, risk and financial professionals, students and educators, as well as communities.

  • A Part-107 sUAS License allows for a range of commercial drone applications including aerial photography and cinematography, environmental monitoring, various types of inspections and construction site surveying.
